Festivals Calendar of Shri Nagnechiya Ji Mandir

The temple of Maa Nagnechiya is a hub of traditional festivals and fairs throughout the Hindu lunar year. Here is the calendar of key celebrations that you should know.

1. Chaitra Navratri (Vasanta Navratri)

Celebrated in the Hindu month of Chaitra (usually March or April), this nine-day festival marks the beginning of the New Year. It features daily special decorations, yajnas, and concludes with Ram Navami celebrations.

2. Ashwin Navratri (Maha Navratri)

Occurring in September or October, Ashwin Navratri is the largest festival at the temple. Millions of devotees visit for the grand Ashtami Havan and the Chappan Bhog offering.

3. Magh and Bhadrapad Saptami Melas

Traditional rural fairs are held twice a year on the seventh day of the bright half of the lunar month (Shukla Saptami) in the months of Magh (January/February) and Bhadrapad (August/September). These melas showcase local Rajasthani folk music, crafts, and food stalls.

4. Maa Nagnechiya Jayanti

The manifestation day of the goddess is celebrated with special Panchamrit Abhishek (bathing the deity in five nectars) and continuous chanting of the Mool Mantra by the temple priests.
