Ghatasthapana and Kalash Pujan
The festival begins on the first day of Navratri with Ghatasthapana (establishment of the sacred pot) in the early morning hours, accompanied by Vedic chants by the temple priests. The entire temple is decorated with fresh flowers, lighting, and spiritual motifs.
Daily Havan and Maha Yajnas
A sacred fire ceremony (Havan) is conducted daily in the temple courtyard. Devotees can register to participate in these prayers for family prosperity and peace. The environment resonates with the chanting of Durga Saptashati and Nagnechi Mata mantras.
Maha Aarti and Chappan Bhog
On the eighth day (Ashtami), a grand Chappan Bhog (offering of 56 varieties of traditional sweets and dishes) is presented to the goddess. The Maha Aarti on Ashtami night is a sight to behold, drawing thousands of devotees who light ghee lamps in devotion.
